I grew up and went to school in a very diverse community. The color of someone's skin, their background, their religion... never phased us. It was probably one of the best things about my school experience. I had friends from different cultures and traditions, so I really learned a lot from this even in my early years in school. This diversity is something that many students do not get to experience.
I was lucky enough to attend a diverse college, too, which helped me find my career path and aspirations. After graduation, I was eager to be in a working environment that fostered this same education and acceptance...one that was driven by the differences each individual brought to the table. And...Martin Luther School exceeded my expectations.
MLS was built on a foundation of respect and acceptance, supported by a diverse staff and student body at its core. For all the breadth of backgrounds and cultural richness of its staff and students, their values all coalesce at MLS. In fact, this was noticeable from my first day at Martin Luther School...I was taken back at how much I learned and grew, after meeting each student and faculty member. This element truly enhances the educational experience here. It is amazing to see kids learn and grow together with this incredible understanding of teamwork and collaboration-- something they will take with them after their years at MLS. I am beyond grateful to spend my days working alongside this extraordinary community, and know that I have already learned so much from the people around me in a short period of time.
MLS is an amazing choice for this reason alone...Everyday we see first-hand how our diverse community helps us all blossom as students, teachers and individuals. I am confident that students leave here ready for the next step in their lives, both as students and people of the communities to which they belong for the rest of their lives.
