Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

The Senior Final Exam Schedule along with the Final and Regents Exam Schedule for grades 9-11 was sent out this past week. The schedules will also be distributed to students this week. Important information regarding graduation was sent out to our 12th grade and 8th grade parents. Please review the information and feel free to reach out with any questions.

On Tuesday, May 21st, we will be hosting a school wide Field Day. Classes will conclude at 12:33pm. Students will gather at our grass lot at the corner of Maspeth Ave. and 61st Street. At the conclusion of Field Day all students (Grades 6 -12) will be dismissed at 2:45pm from the school building. Students will be required to sign out with their class advisor. If a Senior has the early dismissal privilege, he/she may sign out with their advisor after 1:30pm. Lunch will be provided, students may bring their lunch if they prefer. Lunch will not be available for purchase. Students may bring a blanket to have a picnic style lunch.  In the event of rain, Field Day will be rescheduled to Wednesday, May 22nd. Additional details:

  • T-shirts, designed by our very own Cougar Spirit Club, will be provided to our students which they will be required to wear. They can dress down. Sweatpants or shorts of appropriate length will be allowed. No ripped, torn or frayed jeans allowed.
  • Students may bring in items such as hula hoops, wiffle balls & bats, footballs, and volleyballs. There will be organized games. Any dangerous or inappropriate items will be confiscated. Any inappropriate behavior will result in removal from Field Day.
  • We do need some parent volunteers. If you are able to volunteer between the hours of 11:30am – 3:00pm, please send an email to
  • We are also asking for financial and/or product donations. We need refreshments (ie. lemon ice), snacks (ie. chips) and outdoor games. If you know of a business that would support our event, please let me know. If you would like to make a monetary donation to support Field Day that would be truly appreciated!

I would like to invite you to place an advertisement in our yearbook. You may wish to congratulate a senior, acknowledge your child's achievements, or support us with a business ad. You may purchase a yearbook ad in two ways, either by mail or online.  To purchase an ad ONLINE: Go to: Type in Martin Luther School and then follow the prompts to design your ad and submit payment online. If you wish to purchase an ad BY MAIL, return the attached sheet by Friday May 31, 2019 with your contribution.
