Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. - Colossians 2:6-7

Greetings,

Where did the summer go??? I think that is a question we are all asking ourselves. Only 2 days left to kick off the 2019-2020 school year! If you haven't returned your iPad contract, please do so using the link below.

As principal of Martin Luther School, I am blessed to be surrounded by such an incredible community of parents, students, faculty & staff. I hope that this weekly e-mail will help you stay informed and encourage you to get involved with all of the different activities we have here at MLS.

Our school year will start off with a Cougar Kickoff on Tuesday, September 3rd at 10am.  Students will report to their advisor in the gymnasium by 10:00am  At the conclusion of the Kickoff all students (Grades 6 -12) will return to the gymnasium to receive their locker assignments and bus passes. Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm from the school building. Students will be required to sign out with their class advisor. Attendance is mandatory. In the event of rain, Kickoff will take place in the gymnasium. Please show your cougar spirit on Tuesday by wearing a Martin Luther School shirt, also known as our Cougar Gear. Entering 9th graders are encouraged to wear the shirt they received on Processing Day or Accepted Student Day. Students may wear shorts or pants of their choice and sneakers. (Students should bring sunscreen if it’s a sunny day!) We are looking for students to volunteer to help set up for the kickoff at 8:00am on Tuesday. This is an opportunity to start completing service hours. Please email me at dyounghese@martinluthernyc.org if you can volunteer.

On Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 all students, grades 6 -12, report from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Students will gather in the Gymnasium when they arrive. They will receive their schedule, textbooks,a printed copy of the school calendar and other materials.  Attendance is mandatory. Students are not required to wear their coordinates.

Thursday, September 5th, 2019 is our First Day of Classes, 8:05am - 2:30pm, for all grades 6 -12. Students are to be in dress code. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Have a great week!
